I love it when that happens. This one gave me chills from the first listen. Some of the lyrics, especially the first few lines, are startlingly close to one of my recurring dreams. About ten years ago or so I started writing a book with a friend. And I was listening to music one day and I heard a song that sounded exactly like it was being sung from one character to another, about two other characters. The lyric choices were so close to some things about the characters and their interactions with each other.
I don't really know what the real meaning of the song is I suppose.. but it fit in so well (at least when it comes to perspectives of characters... which isn't always the truth as people have their biases and it's hard to see the whole picture sometimes)

Did the song later help inspire other parts of the story? Music has a way of inspiring people. Speaking of which, I haven't listened to Jars of Clay in a while. Good band.

Not that song. But other things helped inspire it, I can't really think of a song that did... yet.
