This song gave me chills the first time I heard it.
I love it when that happens. This one gave me chills from the first listen. Some of the lyrics, especially the first few lines, are startlingly close to one of my recurring dreams. It's hard to say if the effect wouldn't be similar with different words, but they do make it seem more personally meaningful.
The first time I heard this song, I was on iTunes checking out their free song giveaway that day, and this one was featured. I listened to the little clip and thought, "heck, yes!" and snagged myself a copy.
I love that song.
And now I get to feel what hipsters everywhere feel when I hear everyone else listening to it.
"I liked that song before it was cool."

That sounds like a strange/interesting dream.
About ten years ago or so I started writing a book with a friend. And I was listening to music one day and I heard a song that sounded exactly like it was being sung from one character to another, about two other characters. The lyric choices were so close to some things about the characters and their interactions with each other. I don't really know what the real meaning of the song is I suppose.. but it fit in so well (at least when it comes to perspectives of characters... which isn't always the truth as people have their biases and it's hard to see the whole picture sometimes)
Did the song later help inspire other parts of the story? Music has a way of inspiring people. Speaking of which, I haven't listened to Jars of Clay in a while. Good band.

I remember it well, the wind was blowing, your hair was blowing in the breeze, the sweet smell of your hair drew me close..... I said "Did you just fart? Cause you just brought a tear to my eyes and took my breath away"

Not that song. But other things helped inspire it, I can't really think of a song that did... yet. Well... except the song that never ends.

A dork? Would a dork look as handsome as me?
Since this is the music thread, imagine hearing Right Said Fred.

Hahaha this song always makes me laugh and dance whenever I hear it. I have a friend who reaaaally hates it, so to be annoying =P when it comes on the radio I will always turn it up and dance as much as possible. Tonight we were in a car full of people, and the friend who hates it, was driving. The entire car started dancing almost dangerously LOL while she drove thinking we were all nuts. Oh I am a terrible friend sometimes

I decided to start looking for musicians I'm not familiar with, though heard songs on the radio by them.
