I can teach you how to say "I have cheese in my ears" in German. Very useful phrase.
That reminds me of when I taught my co-workers how to say "do you have any bananas?" in Soninke. ^_^ So they taught me how to say it in Swahili.

IJWTS I feel absolutely awful right now...like everyone is running ahead of me. It's like those dreams I sometimes have...I'm trying to run, but my feet feel like cement blocks.
And the worst of it is, I feel like I have no motivation to better myself. It is completely and totally my fault, but I have absolutely no idea how to move forward. The best I've done so far was to get a job and start saving money...after that, I am at a complete loss.
I will be 24 very soon and I still have no clue what to do with my life...I feel like a child.

IJWTS Congratulations! Sorry I'm a bit late, but really that is absolutely amazing and needs recognition. I already know you're going to have an amazing time.
Alright, as is customary I will pass along my German knowledge.
ich liebe dich = I love you (the love love type) Ich habe dich lieb = I love you… liiike a friend Käse = cheese schule = school wins, zwei, drei = one, two, three
Bam! All the basics you'll need.

The thing about German that always killed me was figuring out which pronoun to use. Everyone should just have one version of "you" like we do, and use it for everything

We only speak the one of the most, if not the most, most grammatically complicated language in the world, every language has it's "thing".

I wholeheartedly agree! Explaining the strange English conventions to my 2nd graders makes me wonder if there is any rhyme or reason to the majority of the rules.
When editing their journals with them: "Adorable student, when you did it in the past you put an "ed" on the ending so the word push becomes... "
"Pushed!! I pushed my sister on the swing and then we... *pauses and gives me a proud smile* walked home to eated our pepperoni pizza!"
That is usually the point where I start crying on the inside, which manifests itself by me giving the student a smile and a pat on the back.

Rules?!
The world would be a MUCH better place for me if people would simply do as I say.

IJWTS- The Italian feast is finished. I made supper tonight, and because I'm … me I decided to make two different types of lasagna. And then I realized, what is lasagna without garlic bread and caesar salad? And then had an epiphany this dinner could be elevated with a dessert. And let's be honest supper is never over until dessert is served. So my dad and I made Salted caramel chocolate pudding.
The good news: All the new recipes were a success The bad news: I'm so full I can't mooooove.

I'm genuinely and secretly afraid of becoming jaded about love...
anyone else feel like they've been stung so often that it's hard to feel hopeful?
